NCAFPM 35th  Annual Conference May 3 - 6 , 2026 Atlantic Beach North Carolina Click Here For Abstract Submission Form Template Call for Abstracts   NCAFPM's 35th ANNUAL CONFERENCE Call for Presentation Abstracts​​​​​​​ The North Carolina Association of Floodplain Managers (NCAFPM) will host our 35th annual conference May 3-6, 2026, at the DoubleTree in Atlantic Beach This Call for Abstracts seeks a broad range of local, state, and federal officials and industry professionals to address the many issues and opportunities associated with reducing flood damages; making communities more resilient; and managing floodplains, fragile coastal resources, and urban environments. ​​​​​​​ SUGGESTED TOPIC AREAS INCLUDE: Recent Flood Events and Recovery Efforts Floodplain Management and the NFIP Floodplain Mapping Resiliency Mitigation Planning Mitigation Success Stories and Lessons Learned Climate Issues Stormwater Programs Stream Channel/Wetlands Restoration Grant Funding GIS, LIDAR, and Other Technologies Modeling Public Involvement and Stakeholder Engagement Consensus Building Community Rating System (CRS) Local Building Code Enforcement Legal Issues Other Related Topics ABSTRACT SUBMISSION: ​​​​​​​If you are interested in presenting a topic, please download and complete the Abstract Submission Form on our conference website and email to abstracts@ncafpm.org Abstracts should be submitted prior to January 1, 2026. Presenters will be notified of acceptance by February 1, 2026. Presenters should be prepared to speak for their entire allotted time. Presentations should be emailed to ncafpm_it@ncafpm.org or delivered to our registration desk AV person on a flash drive the morning prior to your session.
